Fluffy Headcanon for y’all
- Hobbs calls each member of the Detective Agency every week to make sure they’re okay
- He reassures Farah that she’s doing a wonderful job managing everyone and everything at the Agency, always ends the call by saying she’s an incredible cop but most importantly an incredible person, and pretends he doesn’t hear her voice choking when she thanks him. Sends her YouTube links of Weirdly Satisfying Videos or photos of his desk with his pens sorted out by color and size to calm her down when he feels she’s stressed out (which is all the time).
- Makes sure Todd’s parabulitis attacks don’t wear him down too much, asks if he needs help buying his medication (he doesn’t, Farah’s got everything under control) and tells him how Tina is making him listen to the Mexican Funeral’s records on loop and how they dance to it at the station, praising Todd’s vocals and guitar skills. Todd blushes and tries to play it cool but fails miserably. Hobbs always asks how Amanda’s doing and how are things between them. They’re good, and even if sometimes his self-loathing comes back to bite him in the ass, Dirk’s always there to cheer him up.
- Dirk doesn’t always pick up his phone when Hobbs calls him because he usually is in the midst of something holistically weird like being chased by a haunted hat or searching for random animals that aren’t really animals, or that one time his phone wasn’t his phone but actually Mona messing with him. But Dirk always calls him back to tell him about all of it, relating his latest adventures and being delighted that now he has friends who call him on his phone. Hobbs is always enthusiastic hearing about Dirk’s activities, and always makes him feel safe being himself, which is how they end up talking about his hunches and sometimes his self-doubts regarding his abilities. Hobbs reminds him that the hunches do not define who Dirk is, DIRK is the one who uses them to help people. Dirk doesn’t know what to say to that so he steers the conversation back to weird holistic stuff and everyone is fine with that.
