Loki has no motivation to be a villian in Infinity War.

He wants Revenge on Thanos. Who killed all his citizens and threatened to kill the only family member he has left. Loki passionately hates Thanos.

Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t work with him to suit his own ends. 

He didn’t exactly seem thrilled to be working for him in the first Avengers either.
