So I just started watching Agents of SHIELD. Season 1, Episode 15 (Yes Men) made me so happy! For starters, Agents of SHIELD is canon for the Marvel Avengers timeline. In this episode, Lorelai travels to Earth through one of Loki’s secret tunnels. Sif comes after her, commanded by Odin. She explains to Coulson and company that Lorelai escaped during the dark elf invasion. But episode 8 (the Hub) took place while the team was cleaning up after the Convergence. That means Lorelai arrived several weeks to several months after the convergence. At this time, Loki has already been revealed to be impersonating Odin. So, if:
1. The convergence and the prison breakout happened weeks or months ago
2. Odin sent Sif after Lorelai
3. Loki is impersonating Odin
Then this command could only come from Loki himself.
Why is this so important? Because so many people, especially Thor, assume Loki has been up to no good – day drinking, theater in his bath robe, etc. Actually, Loki was doing a good job, taking care of Asgard and seeing to his responsibilities.
Thor accuses Loki that the nine realms are in chaos. First, he was the one who promised to protect the nine realms. Second, uh, has Loki ever showed much concern for the other realms? Loki’s reaction to Thor is the real problem. He’s so used to groveling to his brother and facing unreasonable accusations and knowing Thor won’t seek understanding before passing judgement that he doesn’t even try to defend himself. He doesn’t mention anything he’s been doing. This Lorelai issue never comes up, nor any of Loki’s other successes. It’s a bit unfortunate. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch Agents of SHIELD because it is canon and it gives additional important information that the movies leave out.
