-my english is bad sorry- i read the book. and why everyone think humbert never loved lolita? lolita is a victim i agree but humbert isn’t a monster. lolita reminds him his ex dead girlfriend.he never want ruin her life. he is in love with lolita not just obsessed. his words about her really beautiful and when she 17 he still want her. it’s not a love story bc lolita don’t love him and she is right. this is a sad and beautiful story.

Well, Humber maybe loved Lolita, but he loved her in a sick way and the fact the he did the things he did turns him into a “monster” because he was a really bad person with her. He maybe didn’t want to ruin her life but he did! His intentions here aren’t an excuse, he did ruined her life and he knew he was doing it. And he killed Quilty because Quilty took his “pet” away. Maybe he loved her, maybe he was just obsessed and blind by her, but it doesn’t matter if he loved her or not, he was a monster with her, if he loved her he would let her go, he wouldn’t do all those horrible things to her and he’d do what’s best to her, not what he wants, not what he thinks it’s best, but what she wants for her own happiness.
But sure you can think like this, this is what I think, the same way that some people think that is a love story. We’ll never know the truth, so is good that we have differents points of view.

why do you love this movie so much if you think that it’s not a love story and that Humbert is a monster ? but you’re still posting photo sets that romanticize the movie, Lolita, and the word nymphet ?
I love the book, I love Humbert’s sick mind, I love how Vladimir wrote such horrible things in such an incredible way and I love Lolita because she reminds me of myself, as kid and now, which is not a good thing, but it is what it is. Is not a love story, but that doesn’t mean I can’t love it, that doesn’t mean that isn’t a good history.
Is sick? Yes. Is cruel? Totally. But it’s brilliant that someone wrote this, it’s the reality of many girls, someone brougth this up, someone showed how sick it is. The movie romanticizes it for himself, but not the book, and the book is the soul, the movie is just a body it doesn’t shows everything.
I post photo sets that romanticizes it? No, I post the photo sets of the movie, are the only ones I have, are the only ones that exists so of course are the ones I use.
