let’s be honest, our paths diverged a long time ago
There was a really turning moment for Loki when he ended his internal love/hate struggle, accepted his feelings and not just escaped from Sakaar, but went to Asgard to save his/not his homeland and stay side by side with his/not his brother.
But things could be different. Loki could be stubborn
enough
to stay on Sakaar, where, as we know, all lost and unloved souls should stay for good. I believe he could earn Grandmaster’s favor
back
if he wished that, he even could enjoy it for a while, but… Loki gets bored easily and I’m sure at the some point he should find himself sick of the fake smiling, behaving and plaing Grandmaster’s games. But he is on Sakaar and there is no way back.
Well, mabe there is way back. Probably Loki could finaly escape from the trash planet
and even meet his brother again (if Thor survived Ragnarok), but their relationship would be still broken.
Knowing that he can’t reach brother anymore, Loki might start drinking a lot to numb the pain of loss. He could start wearing his helmet again as the only reminder of his past and origin.
And there are thousands years of the same messed up life ahead of him.
Goddess Aesthetics | Áine | Irish Goddess of love, summer, wealth and sovereignty.
I like the mood board.
The text could be added to though. Aine is a sovereignty queen and that’s a specific type of historical deity. The other stuff isnt history or a product of our culture.
For example Summer. Theres loads of solar deities in paganism but Max Muller the person who came up with the solar myths in the 19th c didnt believe deities existed. His solar myth is a way of explaining that there are no deities.
The idea got into paganism because he was a theosophist. A kinda pre cursor/ancestor of modern paganism. Its long gone everywhere else.
The love thing comes in through Evans Wentz book fairy faith in celtic countries. Hes another theosophist so Aines not a deity to him and love is its own thing in theosophy anyway. Its not romantic love or anything a non theosophist would relate to.
Wealth… defo sounds modern and American. Tribal ireland had no money so there was no way to store wealth. No markets so there was no way to spend wealth. No towns so there was no reason to spend wealth. No neighbours to compete with etc.
A deity of wealth back then would almost be as useful as a solar deity in a cold country where it rains constantly n winter Never. Seems. To End.
Bring on summer, quick!
This is true, though I have this nagging feeling I did see something linking Áine to the sun or summer in a similar way to Lugh (read: vaguely and tangentially) but I can’t remember where I put to it down. Will report back.
